| Yesterday was a day full of firsts for me. It all started in the morning on my way to work. I was about 5 minutes away from work when I saw what I thought was a dog running across the road 50 feet in front of me. I slowed down a bit and as I did, I saw another one just getting off the curb and onto the road. This time I thought that they surely must be greyhounds on the loose or something because they had exceptionally long legs. Then the second one pick up speed and it started had what I thought was the funniest gallop-like, prance-like run. Duh. I wasn't looking at dogs on the road. I was looking at deer. Sure enough as I passed them on the road, I saw them eating off a bush in someone's front yard.
I guess you can say that I'm still a city girl at heart. I was too busy thinking that they were weird looking dogs. After all, who sees deer crossing the road in the city? When I got to school, I realized how God was watching over me because I was driving when they were crossing. It's pretty scary if you think about it.
Then as I was leaving work in the afternoon and approaching my car in the parking lot (yes, true suburbia) I happened to notice that the rear tire of my car looked a bit flat. I pull out my tire gauge to test it out. Sure enough, it was flat. Not only that, I was actually able to see a screw in my tire. As I was wondering what I should do, my coworker walks up to his car (which just happened to be parked right next to mine) and sees my flat. He helps me out (even though we had to call AAA in the end b/c we couldn't get my spare on) and then I'm able to drive to a tire center to get my flat repaired. That was my first flat ever. Again, I was just so thankful to God that He was watching over me because I was safely in the parking lot of my school when I discovered it.
That night, I go home and feed Jeremy. These days, he's holding his own bottle. Last night, he decides to hold it with one hand and he does so successfully. My little boy was "palming" the bottle. That was the first time I'd ever seen that.
Wow. God has blessed me with so much.

| One week, three deaths. It makes me think a lot about this life we live.
My grand-aunt died in her 90's of natural causes.
A seven year old from our church fell into a pool while on vacation and died a few days later.
My cousin's 20-year-old boyfriend died when the driver of another car falls asleep and slammed into his car.
Death always brings me back to my own father's sudden passing and to the two deaths of my college friend and cousin on 9/11.
Am I living life that way God would want me to?

| Yesterday Jonah and I celebrated our four-year wedding anniversary. It's kind of shocking that four years have come and gone just like that. Four years ago, we were really blessed with a beautiful wedding day full of family and friends. Four years later: several job changes, one move to NJ, some losses, one beautiful son, more family to spend time with, more brothers and sisters-in-Christ, two trips to Hawaii, several trips to New Orleans and Texas, one to London, Paris and Taiwan, bed and breakfast stays in Newport, RI and Cape May, NJ, one new place we call home, one additional car, many lessons learned ...God truly blesses. He gives, He takes, He loves.
Happy anniversary honey! Here's to many more!
